BYU-Pathway Worldwide provides an accessible path to earning a spiritually based university degree completely online at an affordable price.

There are two ways to start:

PathwayConnect is a one-year, reduced-cost online program that prepares students to start or finish a degree by building spiritual confidence and teaching foundational academic skills. After PathwayConnect, students can apply their course credits toward a degree at the same lower price.

Whether students first start with PathwayConnect or jump right into their degree program, they can choose from nearly 40 online certificates and degrees offered through a partnership with BYU-Idaho. Certificate and degree programs are available in the areas of business, technology, familiy studies, and professional studies.

Starting with PathwayConnect might be the best way to start your degree if you fit one or more of these criteria:

PathwayConnect Application Instructions

Congratulations on your decision to apply to BYU-Pathway Worldwide’s PathwayConnect program! (If you have previously completed one or more courses in PathwayConnect, do not begin a new application. Instead, complete the Returning Student form.)

  1. Log In: You will be asked to log in with a Church Account. If you don’t have a Church Account, click “Register for a Church Account” on that page.
  2. Personal Information: Ensure your personal information (such as address, phone number, and email) are accurate, and make any updates needed.
  3. Placement Questions: You will be asked a series of short questions to assess your eligibility to participate in PathwayConnect.
  4. English Assessment: Your answers to some of the Placement Questions will determine if you need to take an English language assessment. (Typically required of non-native English speakers.)
  5. Weekly Gathering: If you meet eligibility requirements, you will then be asked to select an option for your weekly PathwayConnect gathering.
  6. Accept Your Offer: If you qualify to enroll in PathwayConnect, the final step in your application process will be to accept your offer of admission.

  • Be a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, or have a close tie to the Church
  • Be at least 17 years old (with a high school diploma or equivalent) or over age 19 (with or without a high school diploma or equivalent)
  • Have daily access to a computer with high-speed internet and webcam/video chat capabilities
  • Attend weekly gatherings during PathwayConnect (one full year)
  • Strive to live by the CES Honor Code
  • Be capable of entry-level college academic work
  • Be a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, or have a close tie to the Church
  • Agree to live by the CES Honor Code
  • Have daily access to a computer with high-speed internet
  • Be in good standing (academic and financial) at any institution of higher learning previously attended. And be clear of any unresolved legal action (probation, fines, listed on a registry, etc.)
  • Must have earned a cumulative GPA of 2.0 or higher in high school (or equivalent) and any previous university courses taken. (Students who completed PathwayConnect do not need to meet this requirement. Instead, they need to have earned a minimum 3.0 GPA during PathwayConnect.)
  • Have completed high school (or equivalent)*

Application Process

  • No application fee
  • No ACT or SAT required
  • No high school transcripts required
  • No worthiness interview during PathwayConnect
  • English language assessment (for non-native English speakers)
  • Submit high school transcripts (or equivalent)*
  • Submit ACT or SAT scores*
  • Submit seminary transcripts*
  • Submit transcripts for all credits earned from previous universities
  • Take the TOEFL (for non-native English speakers)
  • Meet with local bishop or branch president for a worthiness interview

Individuals who do not have access to, or who do not want to submit the required documents, should consider joining PathwayConnect, which has a simplied application process.

*Waived for students who have completed PathwayConnect or have 24 or more university transfer credits.
