Whether students start with PathwayConnect or jump right into their degree program, they can chooose from nearly 40 BYU-Idaho online certificates and degrees. (BYU-Pathway provides the services, support, and curriculum direction; while BYU-Idaho develops and delivers the courses and grants the degree.) Certificates and degrees are available in the areas of business, technology, family studies, and professional studies.

Certificates & Degrees Admissions


  • Be a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints or have a close tie to the church.
  • Agree to live by the CES Honor Code
  • Have daily access to a computer with high-speed internet
  • Be in good standing (academic and financial) at any institution of higher learning previously attended. And be clear of any unresolved legal action (probation, fines, listed on a registry, etc.)
  • Must have earned a cumulative GPA of 2.0 or higher in high school (or equivalent) and any previous university courses taken. (Students who completed PathwayConnect do not need to meet this requirement. Instead, they need to have earned a minimum 3.0 GPA during PathwayConnect.)
  • Have completed high school (or equivalent)*

*Students who complete PathwayConnect do not need to meet this requirement

Individuals who do not meet some or all of these requirements should consider joining PathwayConnect, which has simplified admission requirements.

Application Process

  • Submit high school transcripts (or equivalent)*
  • Submit ACT or SAT scores*
  • Submit seminary transcripts*
  • Submit transcripts for all credits earned from previous universities
  • Take the TOEFL (for non-native English speakers)
  • Write application essays
  • Meet with local bishop or branch president for a worthiness interview

*Waived for students who have completed PathwayConnect or have 24 or more university transfer credits.

Individuals who do not have access to, or do not want to submit the required documents, should consider joining PathwayConnect, which has a simplified application process.
