Students living in the Pacific Islands, Asia, and the Philippines who have completed PathwayConnect receive priority consideration for admission to BYU–Hawaii. The steps toward unification have already blessed students. Raynerson Maia from Brazil was unemployed when he enrolled in BYU-Pathway and institute courses. He said, “After PathwayConnect, I earned a construction field supervision certificate from BYU-Idaho. I applied to the U.S. Embassy in Rio de Janeiro and was offered a position as a safety program coordinator for the overseas building operations. I wouldn’t have had this opportunity if it were not for BYU-Idaho and BYU-Pathway.”
