Instructions for Participants and Lead Students
The lead student should plan to incorporate a brief discussion about the devotional into the gathering. Participants should ponder the following questions:
- President Ashton described a broken heart and contrite spirit as a requirement for someone building Zion. What does a broken heart and contrite spirit look like in a person? Why does the world teach the opposite (be better than others, be selfish)? Why is life better for everyone when people have a broken heart and a contrite spirit?
- President Ashton described the sacrifices of his grandfather and father that helped him be where he is today. What do you hope your sacrifices will do for your children and grandchildren regarding education?
