BYU-Pathway offers online higher education to over 45,000 students in more than 150 countries. PathwayConnect is an affordable, one-year, online program that helps people start or return to university studies. After completing PathwayConnect, students can go on to earn an online certificate and degree through BYU-Idaho, presented and coordinated by BYU-Pathway Worldwide. (Note: The scholarship discount does not apply to online certificate and degree programs.)

Requirements

In order to qualify for the scholarship, applicants must meet the PathwayConnect admission requirements and:

• Be planning to participate in PathwayConnect in Brazil or the Caribbean
• Have returned from a full-time mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the last five years (2013–2018)
• Be enrolling in their first semester of PathwayConnect
• Pass an English language assessment as part of the application to PathwayConnect

Applicants who don’t pass the assessment who scored a level of intermediate-mid or higher on the English OPIc exam (valid through the last year) may send their certificate for consideration.

Applicants who don’t score high enough on either assessment can apply for EnglishConnect, a low-cost English-language learning program designed to help members and non-members increase their English proficiency in a gospel-centered environment.
